day tripping saturday, 6 hours round trip driven.... Free ticket to Magic or $25 ticket to Stratton or $46 ticket to Mount Snow....

If you are happy skiing a few cruisers over and over, Magic would be fine. I hate to say this because I really like magic, but I would pay to ski elsewhere rather than ski there for free... I say this mostly because there are virtually no bumps left at magic, and IMO, it isn't spring skiing without bumps! A solid intermediate would be entertained, but an advanced/expert will get a bit bored...

I was there last Saturday and that picture that says "Tali" is not Talisman! Tali has a signicant man made base. Its likely Sorcerer as the one section that is both a bit steeper and in the sun was thin in the middle. Otherwise it skied great.

As far as no bumps at magic this weekend, and all the talk of only intermediate terrain, seems folks are fogetting about Gonif and Twilight, both of which skied great last weekend and had good snow (ok, the runout LOOKs rough but was very skiable to the right). Also, Broomstick into Heart of Magician skied great and I would expect held its snow. Not to mentioned I find some of the "intermidiate" terrain like Trick, Medium, Wizard, Up Your Sleeve and Vertigo to be pretty awesome.

Unfortunately I cannot make it, so Spring Fling last weekend - which was a blast by the way - was my final Magicfling for the season.

I'm sorta surprised some of the terrain hasn't bumped up at Magic...I thought Tali/Sorcerer and even portions of Trick/Show Off would bump up.
Not enough skier traffic yet I assume? They have only been open 1 day since it got warmer so maybe just not enough time for bumps to form. Perhaps today/tomorrows traffic helps things in that regard.

Goniff and twilight are closed.

Broomstick had huge patches of blue ice in the middle. I skied it in order to get elsewhere, but it certainly was not "great" yesterday.

The trail labeled talisman had a (?) after it for good reason. I wasn't sure. Maybe Sorcerer? I don't know all the trail names!

I skied Heart of Magician once, and many of the troughs were dirt. It won't last long.

I'm not trying to slam Magic here... I really like the mountain a lot. I'm just trying to be real. Like I said, if you just want to cruise, it should be fine.

Xwhaler - I would guess traffic is way too low for bumps to grow!

Well, I guess at this time of year a lot changes in 6 days! I would have thought the trails I mentioned would have held up but there is nothing like being there to see it.

Savemeasammy, I did not read into your post any effort to slam Magic. But I think we should do a ski off as long as MadMadWorld buys both winner and looser a beer!

They do a terrible job at updating the trail report at the end of the year. Same thing happened to me last year

Did you catch that, MMW? You'd better bring your wallet!
