I was not there today so can't speak from experience, but winds atop Washington were 100+ earlier so I don't doubt winds were tough. To your question specifically, I've felt this year Wildcat has been far too timid to get lifts online during these winds. Unfortunately not enough people left to complain... they're pulling only 3 rows of cars in the main lot the last 2 weekends.

At least some of the personal weather stations around there picked up some strong wind readings. Gusts >50mph and some sustained winds >40mph in the morning, and that's presumably near the base: https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KNHJACKS46

Does seem to have died down after noon, but I'm mildly sympathetic to not seeing a point in opening at 12:30pm if there's no one waiting around hoping for it.

as with much of the east, the late summer and fall were dry in PA. Roundtop is running low on snowmaking water. They have backup water source about a mile from the mountain. Several ponds to which they own the water rights. they need to rent a pump at $14k for a month to move the water. Broomfield says "no water for you"

I guess if there is no snow in the west we aren't allowed to have snow in the east...

So how much does one of these compressors typically cost to buy? You read about mountains renting them all the time.

Yeah im not sure on the pump cost to buy. They dont always need to use it and likely dont really have a need to buy said pump for other uses.

Its only in really dry years that they need this water source.

Again seems pennywise pound foolish but across the board revenue must be really down due to the snow drought out west

From what I'm seeing in Park City, assuming it's applicable elsewhere, I think they're getting hammered & I'm surprised the stock's not really headed down.
And Colorado is in even worse shape than Utah.

Having not seriously looked into the equity in a while, my WAG is that on a valuation basis perhaps people think it was already flushed.

Most likely its not down because their revenue stream is mostly with EPIC pass sales. Now obviously the OTHER sources of revenue will be down, but that will not show up for a while......and may get drowned out by the income from those 2026-2027 season pass sales.
