I joined the unofficial forum just so I could read the thread.

Apparently it is true. The (current) last post to the thread is from someone claiming to be associated with the event. Don't mean to sound disrespectful...just cautious. That last poster had some details.

If it is true...it is certainly a very sad thing.

A 17-year-old standout student-athlete at Nashoba Regional High School was killed Friday on the slopes of Sugarloaf Mountain in Maine when she apparently lost control of her skis and crashed.

I was very good friends with alison, believe me.. this is aweful news. I never thought i'd be burying a friend at such a young age. We worked together at Wachusett Mountain for a few years.. she was an excellent skiier. We are all skiing now in her memory.
