I was thinking over my ski season, and although I've had a lot of fun, it was pretty much by the numbers. Skied the usually places and did the usual stuff. I guess the only thing different was skiing Lookout Mt. at WF. I have to do some different things next season.

What did you do so far this season to add a little adventure?

Probably the greatest variety of areas I've ever visited in a season at 16 mountains, so that kept things fresh going to different places nearly every time out. That said, I'd probably trade my 20 days out at all of those different areas for 30-40 at one mountain of Whiteface's caliber.

I've been working on a larger variety of turns and what-not..I skied on my Nordica Blowers alot the 2nd half of the season in powder, crud and hardpack and their increased length..193 vs my other skis which are in the 170 to 182 range and greater width allowed me to ski even faster through uneven conditions which allowed me to make sweeping GS turns through anything...plus extra speed means longer airs off the push piles and a more stable landing..

At Stowe lines that I used to ski in college which were difficult were a piece of cake..I attribute alot of that to the time I spent skiing steeper terrain out west but also to all the days I put in on my skis at Blue the true. One thing about skiing alot is that you're going to have off days but if you take your mind off of it..and just have fun it can turn into an on day. To a random onlooker, I might appear to be skiing well but if I have something frustrating on my brain, I'm not in the zone..living the dream..shredding the gnar..

I skied some new to me terrain this season and next season I want to hit a few new resorts and get into the Backcountry. As for bumps, I want to ski them when they're chalky, hardpack, corny and slushy..because that's one area of my skiing that can improve alot. I also love making an agressive left turn immediately above a cliff in view of on lookers at Jackson Hole..I know the exact inch to turn to make it look steezy yet ensure that I don't go ass over tea-kettle..yet it makes me skeet my pants to think that a random snowsnake could end my season..it's thoughts like that which make us mere mortals have two left feet somedays..darn Brain!!!
