Wednesday, a major change will take place in the northeast. The arctic air dam that is keeping the cold air in place in Canadd will break and all of that will come down by Thursday. That will allow for most resorts to reach the typical 11/25 projected opening and might allow for a White Thanksgiving for most of us. Enjoy this weekend warm-weather people, it'll be the last warm one for a while.

I've noticed a change down here as well. I know when everyone else starts complaining about the weather things are going in the right direction.

does accuweather.com know you're stealing from them?

The jet stream is expected to dip southward across the eastern part of the nation early next week with some noticeable changes on the way. With the dip in the jet, the door will be open for much colder air to dive southward. The cold air will surge across the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley, Monday and Tuesday and then into the Northeast Wednesday.

I would not call accuweather the most reliable thing in terms of forecasting...I hope they are right though. That would be awesome.

while accu weather is definitely not the best source for weather, it would be hard for them to blow this call from what i have seen. most sources seem to be indicating this trend. looks good to me! long term says a possibility of a storm around Tday, but that's a long ways off and anything can happen.

Accuweather has 3 storms in the forecast. One this Wednesday with the huge cold front. It'll probably begin as rain and end as snow for many. The next is Friday night, which will be an all snow event for everyone with temps in the upper 10s north to upper 20s south (south as in CT and RI). The third is next week sometime, right around Thanksgiving. It should be all snow based on the current temp forecast, but that'll still a week and a half away.

Most other sites don't have 15 day forecasts, so the Thanksgiving one is a wait-and-see right now, but all of the weather sites seem to agree on Wednesday and Friday as well as the arctic pattern setting up.

There's only ONE problem I see with this map: if the cold air sinks into the Ohio Valley as depicted here, it may push the jet stream with the warm/cool air over us which just means rain and bad weather :x We need that cold air over NE, not Ohio.
