In the past I have had season passes but decided to not go that route this year anticipating a not so great winter. Anyway I am 17 and I am planning a trip up to VT the first weekend in February that will include a friend who is also 17. Is there any law that says an 18 year must purchase a ticket for you if you are a minor? Stupid question I know, but I have always either had a pass or been with a parent.

I've bought tickets at Killington, Hunter and a few other places by myself before...if there is a law, it isn't enforced.

I've sent my 12 year old up to get his own tickets before, so I'd say no. :) Generally they'd ask and they'd turn and point to me, but that's more becouse he's a 12 year old. :-D

I highly doubt you'll have any issues.

Look at it this way..

If you're old enough to get on the rides that say, 'You must be this tall to ride', they probrably aren't going to do anything.

if there is a law, and it is enforced, im sure the guy behind you will be so disgusted that he will step up to be your parent.

Well, some states require that each party renting lodging have at least one adult in it (or perhaps it's just a hotel rule caused by third-party liability laws, e.g. if you rent to minors who throw a kegger, you can end up in trouble with the cops). Either way, not being of age can be more of a consideration for lodging than for tickets (I've never heard of a resort requiring day ticket purchasers to be over 18 and/or sign waivers).

Speaking of the condo up at Ascutney, I was infromed a building in the complex next to the one I will be staying in burned down. My dads good friend sold his unit in this building about 6 months ago. Lucky him.
