Green, blue, black. Hell, if I'm skiing in MAY I don't really care what the terrain is!!! Better than NONE.
I don't think it would be worth the effort to drive to the mountain for a blue run. That would be the point where I'd stop using the lifts and start hiking.

Skibum1321 you represent a good amount of people.
My point is there are others that feel different. Tb, Terry and I are pretty much in the same camp.

Lot depends on where you are driving from.
Very true, I would go ski a green or blue just to get out in May if it were closer. I'm not driving over 4 hours one-way to do so though...

I would not drive 4 hours either. Thats why I live in NH.:smash: Just different perspectives and that was my point. I hope folks get out, use the lift hike what ever. I'll be riding the lift.

Actually I think a lot of their budget went on blowing snow at Outer Limits for the National competition. They blew a ton on OL and less then usual on Superstar.

yep that's where it went and as great as OL has been this spring after bear closed (often my best run of the day), i would trade that for supe being open a couple additional weeks. unfortuneately they have the nationals again next year. so more of the same.

also agree w/ powderdeprived about terrain parks & half pipes. no knock on boarders but those things eat up a tremendous amount of snowmaking resources that used to be used for building base depths on trails. my only problem with it is the parks seem to be relatively empty while the adjacent trails are way overcrowded, at the least that is the case at k with wildfire (terrain pk) and lower bear claw.

hey bobr, i think i've got my question for the az challenge ;-)

Loon spent 75K and dug a perment superpipe out of earth. Take less snow making to build and gets going quicker if the weather agrees.
Cool Skiadikt. Your TB's point man on some of this as I see it. I respect what you have to say. Geoff is another with good insight.

Absolutely, if you can go to the mountain and have fun then do it.

Just to be fair, its not just boarders that use the park and not all boarders are park rats. At my local mountain its a fairly even split between boarders and skiers in the park.

Oh, I may do it, but it would be different. It would be hiking for turns, either Killington or Tux, in which case I do not consider it a long ride to go skiing. I look at it more as a ride to go hiking, sit seeing, and well, ski to get back down. :)

Yeah, but then you're probably not skiing a green or blue run...

Hello everyone,

I don't usually get on forums, but I felt this was important. Here is what I just went out with on the web and on our snow reports:

THIS JUST IN: OUR LAST DAY HAS BEEN BUMPED UP!!

We are shutting down for the season tomorrow, Friday, May 5th, so come on up make some of those final turns of the year! As promised, we will be offering FREE SKIING ALL DAY!! Enjoy a BBQ on the deck from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. After visiting us on the mountain on Friday, head to the Mount Washington Golf Course and enjoy 2-for-1 golf with a valid lift ticket from that day!

You had better be busy with brain surgery or some shite....

*Says the kid who has totally neglected his spring skiing this year*

Wasn't totally my fault, blame my skiing partner and his whole "college" and "finals" BS...

Yup, excuses are like a-holes, aren't they.

Hey it's the "Marky Rant" :) I'd love to, but just can't this week. But after your rant I still checked with the boss, and she confirms it, can't :(
