My left big toe blackened up nice this year.

Will look badass in sandals this summer. Of course that would mean i have to take the sox off when I wear them.

What are HA Boots? I meant time for you to get new boots. I do want new boots, but for other reasons.

I get black toes every year. The boot fits it the skier. It alwasy happens cause I forget to keep my arms out front when I am in the air. You know whats comming before you smack the landing.

No black toenails here, there were a few days where I thought I might end up with them though.

Keep the big toe nails cut short. When you think you have them cut short enough, cut off more.

I skied last Sunday with unclipped nails. My right foot is a bit bigger and right up there in the boot. Long toenail plus too much back seat = bruised toe. Under the nail is bruised, but I'm not sure if it's bad enough to lose it or not.

+1...downside (for me at least) is that once you cut them that short you need to keep them that way to prevent ingrown toenails...

Only lost one toenail so far, and that was when I fell backwards (wayy too much back seat) and my boots weren't buckled up as tight as they should have.

Left big toe has been bruised off and on throughout the season. I'm sure if I were to ski a bit more frequently, I'd probably damage it to the point of losing it.

For those that have lost a toe nail during the season, did the discomfort keep you from getting out? If so, for how long?

When I lost my big toetail there was no discomfort..there was blood under it for a few weeks and then it just fell off..it's the first time I lost a toenail...I don't go off the big booters much anymore so I don't worry about toebang..

The bruised toe itself hurts, but never bad enough to keep me from skiing. It usually takes several weeks or months after bruising it for it to finally fall off. Once it does, it's basically just dry skin, and usually the next nail has already started.
