Greg is on vacation, but he did let me know that Chris told him there will be no interconnect. Powdr is in negotiations to sell Pico and will be focusing their resources on their core assets.

Also, closing day will be Saturday, May 1st. :daffy:

Greg went on a 2 month backpack tour of Nassahegan State Forest. Looks like killingtons number one stalker will have to wait an awfully long time to get those responses....

Selling Pico is absolutely the stupidest thing POWDR could possibly do. Why am I not surprised? I buy a Killington black out pass and ski Pico mid season when it's open and Killington early and late season. If they sell Pico they can kiss my money and that of all my ski buddies goodbye.:uzi:

Thank god!! That wasn't funny!!! I nearly had a heart attack!

I actually talked to Chris Nyberg myself on the 2nd to the last weekend Killington was open. We were both on skis and it was a beautiful day. I explained how much we enjoyed Pico and how glad we were that the canyon chair was run even though it was not planned and the run outs required walking. Chris smiled and told me that Pico was doing well and actually making money. I could not believe they would sell it!!!

I was really impressed with the atmosphere and effort Killington made last spring. Chris was out enjoying it and talking to people. Snow beach was alive and well and I think POWDR turned a corner during those last days.

It sort of reminded me of the Grinch that stole Christmas's heart growing 10 sizes while on top of the mountain with the sled...like all of a sudden all the Who's down in Whoville started singing and the Grinch realized that he could not stop Christmas from comming. POWDR may have realized that you could not stop Killington from being Killington in the spring that week at least I hope.

Closing Pico would just make me think that the Grinch was back and had not learned it's lesson. Pico is Killington's local feeder mountian for Rultland families. It's the wild and woolly tele hang out. It's the home of the adaptive ski program. The two mountians benefit each other and are complimentary. After POWDR's first year though I would believe that they could do anything however short sighted. Thank god it was just a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe the Muellers from Okemo can buy Pico and put some more money into lifts/snowmaking..turn it into something world class..

Pico is not going to be sold. I wouldn't mind it becoming a NELSAP and just hiking for turns there. That be sick!
