What basic skiing concept are you working on this season? I've seemed to revert to not looking far enough ahead in the bumps lately. Usually only 2 bumps ahead it seems. I need to work on getting my head up and looking further down the line.

I'm always thinking of "reaching" for the next turn with my uphill hand. For me I've found it to help me initiate my next turn easier as well as helps in staying out of the backseat. I most concentrate on this as my terrain get steeper.

I tried a 360 today for the first time since 2001. Guess what? I didn't make it  Got 270 though followed by a hefty hip and head check into the ground

I think I'll stick to spread eagles

Don't know if this counts as basic, but I want to work on when I make my turns in the gates to get faster!

Not falling.

in all seriousness, my goal is to fall more. i tend to ski in control all the time, i don't push myself enough. falling=trying, at least in my book.

don't get me wrong, i'm not looking to take risk and get hurt but i really need to push myself more.

Tipping and getting my skis on edge.
Keep from crouching and getting in the back seat.
Lots of other stuff as well.

OK... I got a wacky idea, wear a neck support/brace. Limits your movement to look down on your skis. You can wear a scarf over it so other won't freak out.

I got inspire with that from hearing first hand and second stories that the us freestyle would wear styrofoam over their torso to keep the upper body upright and the hands held high for planting.

Hips forward & quiet upper body. Watching video of me is like watching one of those drinking bird doohickeys.
