Perhaps your joking but this is something I've seriously considered doing. Maybe rig the pole straps to allow for only a certain distance apart. I'm a major card dealer too.

Was kind of joking, but I need to do something. I have noticed that this year, after running laps in the bumps, my right shoulder is very sore- almost like a rotator cuff thing in terms of pain raising it above a certain point. I had shoulder issues many years ago (non-skiing related), but nothing recently until trying to really get back into bump skiing. I think it is from late plants where my arm is wrenched up and behind me (gets to the point where I can't reach back for the safety bar without agony-the obvious answer is to reach back with the other arm, I know!).

If you have also considered it, maybe I shouldn't be joking. If I have some time over the holidays I may try and craft something togethor. Probably will end up injuring myself trying to use it...but hey.

Ha, I thought of this too! I was going to get a shoe string. Tie a loop in one end and slip over one of my thumbs. Then when I'm ready to do a bump run, just hold the other end of the shoe string loose along with my pole, in the other hand. If I have to bail, just let go of the loose end of the shoe string. Although just thinking of this the last time out, helped me keep my hands forward and felt different.

I like the idea of just holding it on one side. No risk of things going awry that way.
