HIGHMOUNT, New York — In order to install a new high speed, detachable quad in time for the 2006-'07 winter season and to complete necessary maintenance and repairs, Belleayre Mountain announces changes in lift service for the remainder of the season. With a base of 15-60 inches of snow, Belleayre Mountain will be in operation through April 16.

April 2, 2006 marks the final day of operation for Belleayre Mountain's Superchief chairlift as preparation for the installation of a new high speed quad begins. The new lift will reduce the ride to the summit from 13 to five minutes. The detachable feature means easier loading and unloading for skiers and riders.

Chairs One and Two will continue to service the lower mountain beginner area. The Tomahawk Lift will be the only lift servicing the upper mountain for the remainder of this season as Lift Seven has been closed for maintenance and repairs.

Daily tailgating parties at the base of Tomahawk with picnic tables, food service, ticket sales, and shuttle service to the main lodge will bring out the best in spring skiing/riding. Bring the sun screen and your friends and plan to party.
