Just for moski... ;)

Please discuss. For those coming from Southern NE, I would nominate Berkshire East or Magic.

Gore - after a dump there glades and liftlines are awesome.

Whiteface - 3200 vert. feet of lift serviced fresh is a good thing, plus you will have run after run of untracked because it's mid-week and you'll be competing with a few locals for the fresh. 10th Mtn. Glades, Skyward, Cloudspin, Upper and Lower Mac. Hmmm, Hmmmm, good.

Ummm...snowbird? Alta? Jackson, Squaw, A-basin, Red, Kickinghorse, Fernie, Chamonix, Alpe D'Huez. I could go on and on.

In the East - lift served. Easy. Whiteface. Runner's up (but not even close) Sugarbush, Stowe, MRG. Never been to Jay or Sugarloaf but I doubt I'd change my mind - Not on a powder day.

Upper Cloudspin on a powder day? You kiddin' me? It gets no better this side of the Mississippi. At least as far as I know.

Whoops. Sorry about that. But perhaps you should change your name to "moski", i.e. "more" ski! ;)

Hear hear on these points. Ive never been to the bush, but the only mts in New England IMO that could even be considered on a midweek pow day would be Cannon or Jay. Whiteface is steep, and the trails mentioned above are absolutely incredible, with the best on a pow day being Upper and Lower Mac. Incredible trails. Empire is pretty damn sweet too. I made several midweek trips to Whiteface this year, never once waited in a lift line, even on a Tuesday that saw 14" fresh and was the only mt in the NE area to record any substantial snowfall. The place is deserted on weekdays.

It really is a shame more people here havent made the venture to Whiteface, they really dont know what theyre missing.

Loon - a mountain that suffers from too much skiier traffic on weekends. Loon has some really good glades that either get skiied off or don't have any snow. On a midweek powder day, there would be snow to fill the glades and no crowds to ski them off, and the steeps would stay fresh all day.

From what you guys have said about WF in the past, the trees are very limited. If that is indeed true then I fail to see how it would be better than MRG, Sugarbush, Jay, Stowe or Smuggs on a pow day. All of the aforementioned mountains have some great trees, which hold snow far better than any trail. I am not one to stay on a trail on a pow day.

On the map - 35 acres of out of bounds skiing on “The Slides” (conditions permitting); 28.5 acres of tree skiing.

There will be alot more after the expansion.

From what I've heard it seems like "conditions permitting" is the key part of that sentence. You need to have a pretty big base on the ground, with some good stable snow on top. It doesn't sound like this happens that much and certainly not every Pow day.

That's true, the Slides where only officially open 11 days last season. I was just telling you what we have.
