Well folks its been a while...i been mia...but this weather is really starting to bother me......GRRRRRRR......

Do I have to move to CO instead of NH? The character of NH is soo much nicer....but the point is to be able to ski more...

Eh....im still hoping against all hope...but honestly it isnt looking good.

Well, I for one quit. Seriously, I put my notice in at work yesterday. I'm moving to Utah. I just pray that I'm not the jinx that's keeping the EC so warm this season. I'd hate to drag this pathetic season all the way out to SLC with me.

Yea please don't drag it there. I'm visiting in march and since i'm bad luck I'd like to be the one that drags the warm weather out there.

Both Accuweather and Yahoo are showing not terrible conditions in the medium term. There are no big snows, but neither are there rain events. It looks like the next warming trend will be a shade cooler and drier than the last one. If we then go back to cold and finally (FINALLY!) get that snow event, we might just be in business.

Anyway, I'm hoping that we'll get a glimpse of the light at the end of the tunnel within a few days. Any thoughts?

i agree. most forecast seem to look better for the next few days. it's all still speculation at this point, but i remain optimistic. also, above average temps this time of year are still pretty cold for northern new england, so after new years the skiing could be a lot better.

So many people have left Stowe. I think it's funny. Don't let the cold front hit you in the butt on your way out west....
If you are gonna define your exsistance by a single outdoor activity, New england isn't the place. Small Mtns., small wilderness, inconsistant weather, ect.
That being said, if you love New England, you can milk it for some pretty sweet days in the Back Country. The key for my contentment has been diversafication. Celebrate weather in all it's incarnations, and you won't jones for what we don't have.
Sun=Biking
Rain=White Water
Snow=Ski
Cold=pond hockey
Heat=climbing and bouldering
Mud season=MTB trail work
Stick season=hiking and trimming BC ski lines.

So many activities, why jones for what you don't have?
BTW, Happy holidays. Keep the faith, It'll happen.

I have lived in both Utah and Vermont. The skiing in Utah is consistently good and often fantastic in a way that we East Coasters can only dream about. There comes a time when you leave the mountain, however. And at the end of the day, when you leave Snowbird, Alta, etc., you find yourself in Utah. When you leave Sugarbush, Stowe, or Okemo you find yourself in Vermont. 'Nuff said.
