What is the advantage to being based at the Timberline Lodge? We've always gone straight up to the main lodge.

I see a big disadvantage to the greenies in my crowd - only one green trail down, unless you are willing to venture about to the main slopes.

If you're there on a weekend or holiday, you can pretty much park right at the timberline lodge, without having to hike up from the parking lot...which is up a slight hill. Also, the main lodge can get a bit crowded...tables become a premium. No liftlines really on that timberline lift either.
