When I raced back in the dark ages, I sucked. The ruts in the course were thigh deep by the time I got to it.

ill bring a race/boardercross board and race ya. il take a run in the bumps but aint going to stay their to long.

im in say where...back in the day sl&gs courses were set on trails with no grooming.
try running the stowe sugar SL..then get back to me.
and like geof said the ruts were Tall!

The early (typically the good) racers were racing on essentially a completely different course than those of us who were stuck racing later in the day.

My problem with racing ASRA was that the 20-29 year olds raced last so had the most rutted up course. It's frustrating at Nastar when my fastest times are the first run or two and then my times get progressively slower despite skiing equal or better due to all the ruts. Maintaining speed on an offset course seperates the men from the boys..and I'm sometimes a boy...doh!!!
