I'm not voting...bumps are natures way of saying that people are making to manyn turns..ahahaha

Hmm... funny thing, past weekend, the jr racing teams were practicing their sl truns with small gates/cones. These kids rutted and formed small bumps on the course. When the practice was over and time to clean up, the kids picked up the gates and snow plowed the bumps down. Maybe they should have ran them straight to save the trouble of using gates.

BTW: false, you need crowds but not the ones that will plow them down.

Nature's way of telling you that skiing is about way more than boring as hell flat groomers...

Absolutely true. It's not a question of like or dislike - the presence of bumps just means traffic is chewing up the snow faster than it's getting refreshed. That said I generally enjoy bumps but I would never wish for a snow storm to stop so that bumps could form!

True.
And to me it ruins some terrain to have bumps, even well spaced ones. I like steep terrain but if you can't get to it fast it gets all bumped up on most mountains - that to me is a bummer.

ie. One day I was at Tux last year towards the end of the season there - all the main travelled gullies, right, left, were immensely bumped up - so sad since I want to ski a Tux line for it's steepness and choose my own turns. In the bumps you gotta turn with everyone else who turned there - unless I'm there to ski bumps its just a rhythm killer.

If you get bored with straight groomers then look for trails with natural obstacles or head into the trees - there's some real natural fun turning right there.

Not saying I don't like bumps, it's just that they do form everywhere if you just let them be and then the mountain is left with blue groomers or black bump runs.

False. Nature's way of telling people who say true that they need quicker feet.

Though I guess it depends on how you define "nature."

Nothing wrong with bumps, but it is the mountain's way of saying look else where for powder. Big scraped down icy troughs are the mountain's way of saying too many people have skied there already.

Bumps are nature's way of telling you enough people have finally skied the run.

Bumps are nature's way of keeping an otherwise boring run interesting, run after run.

Bumps are nature's way of differentiating the good skiers from the best skiers.

Bumps are nature's way of weeding out the folks that can't handle the terrain.

Bumps are natural. Bumps are good. Bumps are life. Bumps*R*us.
