Resort: cannon
conditions: pp, mg, windpacked
Report: This has to be one of the slowest twofer days i've ever seen at cannon. temps were very cold in the a.m. but warmed up nicely...sort of. The combination of thick layers and lot's of tram runs kept me o.k., not the killer cold that the media has constantly been hyping. Winds were fairly light, except the chronic 20 mph that blows near the top. not nearly as cold as killington yesterday. trails were in great shape. taft's, vista way and a few other were open on natural snow, but kind of thin. groomers were excellent, never skiing off due to lack of crowds. I rode the tram several times solo, as early as 1-1:30. The zoomer area was real nice, with soft grippy snow, and even the zoomer lift line was fun. Still waiting for a little more snow to venture to mitt, as the routes i want require lot's of it. I wish i had pics, but i'm still trying to figure out the friggen camera (yes that's right, I'm technically challenged).
one more thing- I rode the tram with this guy who was talking into a radio and contolling the movements of 2 fighter jets. It was so cool, he would have them swoop down near the tram as we were ascending), did get me a little nervous thinking about the whole alps thing a few years back.
