Pretty much any major Northeast mountain. They have to have made alot of snow by then. It's the biggest money making week of the year.

Stating the obvious, on average the further north and higher elevation you go, your best chances for good snowmaking temps.

trailboss is right...
if we are talking only about the northeast I would second ALLSKIING's comments. I've gone to whiteface the last few years and they have had good conditions. Even last year when the december was insanely crappy they had plenty open to ski.

If you can go out west you are more likely to get better conditions. Best bests would be utah if that were the case.

somewhere low key.

saddleback, burke, maybe wildcat. i would personally rather ski 30 uncrowded trails than 60 bust ones. i guess sunday river if you need to book way ahead.

Wildcat is usually closed on Christmas day.

Going to Stowe for February school break for the week, was there last year same time after all those storms, best skiing I ever had!

I like the quiet idea, away from the crowds. Only looking for 3 days for x-mas week.

If you want to give yourself the best chance for good conditions go to JAY.
Went there two different christmas breaks. The firstime I arrived and you could see the grass. By the time we left the snow was up to my hip. Last time not quite as much snow but still was in the woods.

The other hills will be working there asses off to get things open and Mother nature usually does not help much. The Jay cloud is the deciding factor cause it is busy all year. Just hope the temps are low.

It's really hit or miss the snow quality and the amounts they get. Some years they get dumped on and I was able to only ski it once before. The snow reminded me of the snow out west in the Los Angeles Mountains, Mountain High...

It's primarily a beginner's and intermediate hill and I read somewhere it has 2,034 feet of vertical. Though I could have swore it was way less then that. Just checking out the website right now, the prices for the 2007/2008 season are:

200 NIS ~ or $50 for a lift ticket.
145 NIS ~ or $36 for rentals

Just another reminder of how much I wasn't paying attention in Sister Denise's third grade geography class. I thought Israel was all palm trees, and sand? I would have been much more attentive if the old, ruler wielding bat told me Mary, and Joseph were actually en route to a ski vacation before that last minute detour into a manger!
