It just gives you the cost of gas, doesn't take into consideration wear and tear, maintenance, etc.
I'm convinced skiing this year is going to be cheaper than sitting around at home. $40 or in gas or $150 at the Depot because I'm board and want to install moulding.
You should design a website that also takes into consideration wear/tear and maintenance.
Or... you can do what I did last year and calculate what your car actually uses for gas when going to a particular mountain by tanking up before and after the trip. Using the odometer, you can calculate out your actual MPG too. Taken over the course of the season, you can work towards a pretty reliable average MPG and thus an average cost (pending gas prices don't change).
