I was just informed that Crotched Mountain is Closed for the 2004-2005 Season.

Based on my visits there it was a great season for them.

I look forward to skiing there next season.

(I've moved my thread here...)

:(

Hopes for one more weekend on the slopes have faded... and we must now
say 'Thank You' for the amazing ski/ride season we all just
experienced!

From our late November opening, through many powder days and epic
conditions all season long, there's a lot to celebrate this year:

- Crotched was the first ski area in Southern NH to open
- One of only 2 ski areas in all of southern New England open in
November
- First ski area in New England at 100% open
- Doubled skier visits from previous year

---
During the season, thousands of comments and suggestions come in to the
mountain via email and our comment/suggestions box located at the
customer service window. Among these recently was a comment I'd like to
share with you all ...

"We want to thank you very much for a fabulous year of skiing! The
snow was tremendous! Even my father-in-law, who has a pass at Stratton,
skied more here because the snow was better (he lives in Spofford).
Keep up the great work next year!" -- F.H.W.

So, thank you once again! Stay tuned for more updates from the
mountain during the summer months, via both email and web.

SEE YOU NEXT SEASON!

Interesting that Crotched is closed it was on my short list of places to ski this weekend. I'll have to wait until next year to ski the place.

too bad. although I wasn't planning on going there this weekend, it was a "fallback" plan. I skied there twice this winter - once between xmas and new years and then from 9 PM to 2 AM mid-season during saturday's midnight madness.

It is a great place for the price, conditions and distance.

Live in metrowest area - 30 minutes from wachusett -and have recommended it to many neighbors with family, not a single negative comment even with a 50 minute differential (luckily for us, it's near grandma's house!) all have preferred to wachusett, interestingly.

Although I was exhausted the next day, midnight madness was a total hoot. & between xmas and new year, the conditions were super even with almost zero natural snow.

my one wish would be - devote a trail or half of one to some bumps.

I hope the area is successful, but also hope the lines stay short too!

Going to the Sugarloaf this weekend, first time since '85!

It's good to see that Crotched's making progress. I made it to Crotched twice this last season, once for night skiing a week before Christmas and once around mid-season.

Had a great time both visits -- took a lesson on the second visit and went from just skiing the blues to going on about every trail. :D

Did anyone make it there later on in the season? When I went the second time, it looked like the area under the summit quad on Pluto's Plunge was getting a few bumps on it. If so, that would be the place to have them, since there's plenty of space for a groomed section as well.

I have some $$ left on a SnoCard that I hope to use early next season. As others have mentioned, Crotched's snowmaking system makes for great early season conditions.

My biggest complaint about Crotched is its location -- while it's close to home, the only ways I've been able to get there are via a number of small roads. I also go to Pats Peak, and even though it's a greater distance, I can usually get there quicker.
