They can open terrain fast, but from bare ground to a good base would take a lot more than 48 hours. Maybe 48 hours for a complete resurface.

And I'm not doubting your figures, but I've seen the ponds pretty much empty after getting just Moonwalk, Galaxy, Meteor, Satellite Summit, Milky Way, Super Nova and Launch Pad open from scratch.

That being said, here's hoping for a white Thanksgiving and a good winter to follow.

No worries.... I work in a field where my calculation are second/tripled checked and I do the same to others. Here's the source of my numbers for snowmaking cap.
stated above, this system allows us to pump a capacity of 200 gallons per minute per

Due to the drought, Peterborough has a ban on filling outdoor pools. So their system has the capacity to do this in better years.

An average pool takes about 20,000 gallons and roughly 4-5 hrs to pump in 1000 gallons. Fortunately, the demand for municipal water is low during fall and winter months.
translates to about six inches of snow over the entire ski area

in a 12 hour night!

Decent rain in S. NH over the past couple days. It wasn't enough to get the small brooks and streams near me that went dry flowing again, but it is at least a good start. 1-3 inches across the region. The main river, the Merrimack, is up a couple feet, at least for now. Only 2 months or less to get those snowmaking ponds full. Manchester NH is down over 30 inches of rain since the beginning of 2015. We need rain. Any intel on how the snowmaking ponds are doing?

There is a brook up the road from and it's been bone dry for a couple of months. We got about 2" out of the last storm and the brook started to trickle, but at least the pools now have water. This area must have lost all of the fish
