Looking for reports from the Canan area, was it rain or snow Friday? Was hoping to ski there Sunday.

Thanks!

Skied Cannon yesterday and they must of had some rain. The lifts were covered in ice on there backs and safety bars and boiler plate ice was everywhere on the trails. See my Trip Report for more details

Sorry for the late reply here.I left before the storm on Friday to beat that crappy weather. The short answer was ooohhh yes is rained.I arrived at noon on Friday and it just started snowing but it was already blowing 30 mph out of the south. Not good.It snowed probably 3 inches and turned to sleet for 3-4 hours before turning to mostly rain.We had heavy rain that kept me awake till after 1am.And it was blowing bigtime with that heavy rain.My truck had snow/ice on only one side of it! Saturday the conditions were pretty bad.The groomers could not do much with the wet snow and where they did it was very hard.Saturday night they were able to till up the boiler plate and make the surfaces a little better but this was the worse conditions this year for me.Having said that the trails do have pretty good coverage for not having more than 10 inches of snow in the woods.
