Gotta agree with Eastcoastpowderhound...

...that separation works exceedingly well...thus making me an exceedingly gaping gaper.

So seperating skis is a better method than locking them up..:flame::spin:

IMO, just as good...maybe the theif sees me do it, laughs and then walks all the way to one side of the lodge, grabs one ski and pole, walks clear across to the other side of the lodge...or under the stairs, or up towards the lift, etc...grabs the other ski and pole and takes off...or maybe the thief didn't see you park your boards...but browses the racks, sees a pair locked up with a retractable and thinks they must be sweet if someone takes the time to lock them...pulls out his cutters, snip, bye bye. Either method has its flaws...but, we're both betting that there are plenty more people who use neither method and just leave their skis, unlocked, together and are an easier mark.

jokes aside please explain how separation of skis can help. I understand on weekend where hundreds of skis available for taking during the day but how about in the evening or at the closing time when only couple pairs left .....:separation ????

In the evening/night skiing, or at the end of the day, they are usually together, sitting right outside of where I am and I've got my eye on them...if some lowlife wants to grab them at that point he'll meet me :smash::uzi::flame:

I do not lock my board and I have had one stolen. I just don't think it is worth the trouble of a lock. If it gets stolen karma will take care of it and I will get a new one. Then again I do not buy new equipment and do not hesitate to destroy gear for a few inches of pow.
