I don't know what shitty ass low flush toilets you guys bought or have but I have installed literelay 100's on my projects. Toto, kohler and American standard all make models that work just as well as older regular toilets. Fact not opinion.

If you have to flush 2 or 3 times then:
- it is installed incorrectly or is malfunctioning
- it is a really bad model
- or....you are a wilderbeast and crap 6 lbs of shit in the bowl and then use half a roll of toilet paper.

I know that the latter is probably the issue with some of you on here. You are the ones that go into the office restroom and expode making the room uninhabitable for an hour. What is it with you people who have unusually smelly shit?????
Agreed
Complaining about toilet flow is so 80’s

Talk about EV tech advancements, the new Koehler I just put in suctions my ass to the toilet it’s so strong.

Even if the grass is long? I have zoysia grass, even gas mowers struggle to cut that carpet if it gets a little long, which happens a lot. I do have a Ryobi string trimmer. Not the best at edging but does get the job done.

Our condo Assoc forced us to upgrade to new toilets approx 8 years ago. TOTAL disaster, as all 300 of them sucked.
We had to pay in 2015, But they were all replaced last year, supposedly at No Charge, BUT our condo fees all went up anyway.
At least the 2023 version is better than the 2015 one

Someone needs to invent a car that runs on weed ash residue or WAR. After reading some of the posts on here; pretty sure we can power most of the ski lifts in New England with the Cows at the base of K1.

Yes, I feel your pain. I had the exact same problem with my third wife.

The exploding in popularity, and exploding while charging. NYC has had hundreds of fires this year from lithium batteries, hundreds of injuries and around 20 people have died.
Now isn’t it amazing that’s not ‘front page news’?
If it were a single oil processing plant that killed one or none- FPN for a month.

Censorship on certain issues are becoming 1930’s style Germany.

Hawk, hence the tp shortage during lock downs- everyone used company paper and plumbing.

A quick search shows a pile of articles in the NY Times, and they apparently have a less-than-successful subsidized trade-in program in place for delivery drivers (https://www.nytimes.com/2023/09/04/...vr2rpty0gWcgfNkHcUuk8FNC5apW-w&smid=url-share)
Thx KB,

Guess my point is it's not as widely 'pressed' about as say an oil spill. And once in a while the NYT gets it right. Have to wonder tho. . .would any of these exist without local, state of federal funding/subsidies?

Recall the 1str big fire Boeing had to solve 6-8 years ago? Grounded that new fleet for a long time.

This is a really silly argument to make; that a change in English energy policy isn't getting the press you want.

An oil spill is a current event requiring an immediate disaster response. That's very newsworthy.

With Boeing, their fires represented a threat to human lives. If it wasn't properly addressed, you could have had a Supermax situation where 2 planes crashed and almost 350 people died.

You think a foreign country's energy policy decision being moved from 7+ years to 12+ years from now is as newsworthy as the above?

Get a grip man. This isn't some great media conspiracy. Most Americans could give a shit what kind of cars Britain wants their citizens to drive 7-12 years from now.

conflation DH - I never mentioned UK driving. . . . .and if 20 people killed in NYC due to battery issues - thats bigger news than an oil spill as many more people are exposed to these lithium wonders. . . . agree on Boeing- thats why I mentioned it.

Gripping hard, hands in front.

This may shed some light on 'media conspiracy' though.

Yes, there's tons of local coverage on this. My building will fine you $250 if you have an e-bike or e-scooter in your apartment.

Ehhh.... almost nobody ever does this analysis correctly, because they fail to consider the fact that the EV F150 costs like $23,000 more than the ICE F150, and that's even more relevant today with an interest rate of roughly 7%.

The people who buy these things just love to say, "oh I'm SAY-ving SO much money on gas!!!!", but they're completely financially oblivious. :sadwalk:
Do those contraptions use antifreeze?

No oil (looked it up).

No gas.

So there's a big saving on weight from these liquids. There have been electric golf carts for years. The e-golf carts don't break down as often. They're fast until you hit 4 MPH. It's like you're stuck on a ride at an evil carnival. You can floor it and you ....

Gas carts with no governor can fly. 15 - 17 MPH is fast with no doors and snacks. E-golf carts are better to record the score, because they're barley moving (think bowling). 👂

With e- carts you don't have to store gas. Butt, someone has to charge batteries.

This is exactly the same thing as the car arguement, the big question is: Can they be fueled by bent grass crossed with weed?

Battery fires definitely are front page news in NYC.

Specifically why I bought an ICE golf cart
Nothing like a 50cc Kawasaki single banger for pressure.
A little bit of work and no electric cart in the ‘hood can even sniff my exhaust :devilish:

If they're replacing foot traffic, probably a net negative environmentally but a net positive for the individual.

If they're used in place of a passenger car or light truck, they're a huge net benefit, the more so if they actually displace the car rather than supplementing it.

That's just it, the majority of these things are not being bought to replace a car or truck, they're being bought to replace a human-powered bike. It's probably like 50 to 1 in scale! Even worse in the far-east I presume where they're buying e-bikes to replace regular bikes.

Not if they are replacing a single occupant car.

All of this "here is one instance where XYZ technology doesn't work" is not a valid argument for not adopting it.

Okay then, gimme' your best guess.

How many e-bikes currently being bought are replacing:
A) A single occupant car
B) A bicycle

I've found that all the low flush toilets do is turn a standard single flush visit into a three flush incident and thus waste more water. Fill the bowl up!

This is the first place I've lived with "low flush toilets" and so my first real....ummmm.... long-term "experience", but 1.6 gallons versus 3.5 gallons definitely saves water, because urination isn't a problem. But I agree, it's probably not saving as much water as they model it for because of... uhhhh..... "re-flushes".

How that all shakes out environmentally I have no idea, but like most everything else we're likely just inconveniencing people to feel good as opposed to saving the world.

Wandering into TMI territory here, but my complaint with the low-flush toilets is not their lower power, it's the lack of suitable "starting water" in the bowl.
