Since I finally figured out how to do polls I'm probably getting a little carried away with them, but Nancy's powder thread got me thinkin.

I picked deep pow cause it's so rare that I get it, when I do its a real treat.

If I left out what you like explain it in your reply.

It kinda depends on the day, and prior conditions... deep powder on top of rocks isn't always great, but if there's a solid base, 20 inches of freshies is fine by me. 8)

You can also have trees with a lot of pow... so those two kinda mix...

Well, actually, I'd rather ski none of that... hehe...

I'd have to take a combo pack as well...Some semi deep powder (over a reasonable base) with the natural terrain. A nice steep chute leading into a drop that opens into an wide bowl (where more snow has collected into the deep category) allowing for some huge arcing high speed, float on fluff turns. Although trees and bumps aren't bad either. Is there an all of the above?

Deep powder is a no-brainer.

My #2 is spring conditions which isn't a selection on this list. If you can't have untracked powder, there's nothing better than steep unskied buttery corn snow.

This poll should actually be two different polls:

terrain: groomed, trees, chutes, bowls, bumps, etc...

conditions: deep pow, a little pow, hardpack, ICE....

but I did vote for balls to the walls

yea, what Matt said. terrain and conditions are two different things. i really enjoy all of those options. and as a previous poster said, powder varies depending upon what is underneath the powder. for example, no base in the woods than deep pow over a layer of groomed is phenomenal. nice base, i'll go into the woods. but i don't want to be up in tucks when there is deep powder! ya know?

Pow is nice, but corn will get you in the great terrain safely. Once you're above 40 degrees in pitch, deep pow is often unstable.

MMmmmmmmmm! Forbidden Corn!

I love crud, stuff rocks. Actually like it more than powder because theres always little soft bumps and everything to get air off, also I think it is way easier than powder.

Well untracked 2 ft of powder is better than crud, but you get the idea. Heres a question, where the line between powder and crud?

Deep pow in woods I know or are steep, messy pow in woods a little flatter or unfamiliar...it stinks being dead-ended in the woods on a board. If I don't know the lines terribly well, I like following someone's tracks, sneaking a few turns into the untouched.

I hope that crappy bumps with ice troughs will become my fav, well because that what you usually get. You know, love the one you're with.
