It all depends on the skis that i have out for the day of course! If i have the fischers, i want some nice packed snow, if i have the fugatives, i want some powder....but tree skiing with some nice natural terrain is always fun.

Am I the only crud fan here?

I love crud, stuff rocks. Actually like it more than powder because theres always little soft bumps and everything to get air off, also I think it is way easier than powder.

Well untracked 2 ft of powder is better than crud, but you get the idea. Heres a question, where the line between powder and crud?

It's probably crud when you can't link smooth turns through it anymore and your looking for to peaks and valleys of snow.

hard to answer based on the items presented.

teets-deep powder is king, but i also love steep trees and natural terrain shtuff almost as much.

in fact if the steep trees or natural terrain is teets- deep then i like that better than a simple resort run teets-deep.

i never thought i'd use teets 4 times in a single post. i feel complete now.

The best conditions pure and simple is all of February. It's a combination of superior improved lighting with a dry (No melting) snow conditions. I would pick the day that features snow sparkles in the air. Have you seen that before.

It was one brisk day our in steamboat in 1992. Holy crap that was a long time ago! Now I'm bummed

Bwahhhh!
