I'm also a late bloomer -- I'm 45 and this'll be my 4th season skiing, and I started out on telemark, so falling is that which I am very good at.

So I guess Brian can say "I told you so." ;)

Told ya so. :p

I have skied with Brian a bunch of times over the past season or so. You should listen to his advice. That guy is always falling. ;-)

But what ever you do, don't fall in front of him, he shows no mercy!

If you're on the deck, B WILLwhite wash you.

VERY true! He doesn't even show mercy to me.

Geez I never even opened this thread because, well, I have no fear of falling (yeah right!) and this is the kind of respect I get? From now on I'm not going to let you kids play together unsupervised!!!

Seriously, I do have a fear of falling that I'm trying to get over. It's been holding me back, but I've been getting better about just letting er rip and taking it like a man... :spin:

Sorry,I never bought into the"if you not falling your not learning"bunk. When skiing at high speeds, falling is not an option.I ski pretty much balls to the wall but might go down twice a season in the east. It's usually pretty spectacular.Conversely,in my yearly catskiing trip to BC in big snow,I'm probably down 3-4 times a day.Not much can happen to you except having to be pulled out feet first. But that's a different thread.

Do like me, fall as you're approaching a lift tower. They work wonders in stopping your slide!

Yup, at least you got your feet in front. I'd probably hit the tower with my head, not that it'd matter all that much except I'd scratch my helmet all up...

Put it to the back of your mind.
You think your going to fall, you will.
This is happens most when you are park riding. You just can't think of falling. You have to stay focused. If you visulize yourself falling chances are you will.
Sometimes I'm a complete hypocrit
