Thanks for the updates. I like to see the numbers of the places I'm not without checking a bunch of websites. It's also interesting to see the difference in places fairly close together. Example Wildcat lost ground, Attitash is stuck, while Cannon and Loon look like they're ok (based on the numbers).

Winter starts in a couple of days. It will get better.
The cold doesn't peak around here until late January.

Your "SNOW Welcome", It was part of the original point when I started this last year. I found visually seeing at once where the on-ground Snow blob ended up overlaid on multiple mountains plus a followable amount of open trails that were being Lost, Gained or Stuck over multiple weeks was a good guiding mark of where I wanted my next trip to possibly end up or at least "NOT" go.

I also found that a melting pot of weather forecasts and information was better to pick through to make a more educated Weather and Snow decision.

Multiple years"2 so far" will now be trackable backwards in time to see how a Ski, Board & Snow season really was.

Winter has arrived so lets get this Snow party started.
To usher in the Winter Solstice and the first day of Winter this year it appears the walls bottling up the North American harsher winter might be finally breaking. The Polar Vortex is becoming unstable and is looking to drop down through Canada and into the U.S. in January.

Early signs show a Major Shift in the Polar Vortex, with a Strong Stratospheric Warming Wave now likely to bring a more Wintry Weather pattern in January

Damage is Still being repaired from Mondays storm : ( Ugggggggg Sunday River Resort in Newry, Maine, has announced that the resort is planning to reopen on Saturday, December 23, 2023. On Monday and Tuesday, December 18-19, 2023, parts of New England had been struck by severe storms, seeing wind gusts of up to 132 mph and heavy rainfall that caused severe damage. The floods following the storm devastated infrastructure throughout the region, forcing the closure of several ski areas.
Vermont isn't the only areas still struggling with lack of snow.

It is looking like January will usher in a New Year "2024" and a good chance of Snow for a lot of the North American Ski Mountains and especially the Northeast Mountains!! SNOWGLOBE mode is coming to the U.S. in January with most moisture that will fall will now be as Snow any day it comes.

We will be in a prolonged Cold spell with "10-14 days" of below freezing temperatures on most Mountaintops during the "DAY and NIGHT" first week of January and On........

What you show is cold but no snow.
I can't make Snow myself so I look to Ullr, Mother Nature and the mountain Snowmakers to throw the Snow around with the Cold. I can't argue the lack of Snow on the near forecasts either but I can be hopeful that with locked in cold any moisture that comes to anywhere near a mountain should fall as Snow.

That being said a few long range forecasts have some Clipper storms coming with the cold to the Northern areas of the Northeast around January 7th and then around 1/10/24. A possible Nor'easter if it comes like the last 2 weeks can find the right track would love to run into a solid below freezing air mass instead of the crappy "R" we had for 2 weeks in a row with warm air masses.

Yep, a series of clippers is a great way to get significant snow. Can't trust the ones ridding up the coast.

I'm agree with this 100%. These coastal storms are hit or miss. And if they miss and we end up on the wrong side of the snow line, it wipes out weeks worth of snow. At least when the clippers don't deliver they're rarely destructive.

Coastals are the base builders assuming they arent all rain but the clippers are ususally nice dry snow. I love that pattern with some base down. Constant little refreshers and not alot of hype
