We are going to Stratton this weekend. Forecast is all over the place with rain, snow, glop and either warm (40) to below freezing. Things maybe in our favor, not a lot of rain and wind which an be helpful in drying out the snow before the refreeze.

Regardless, we will, ski, apres ski, hot tub and eat and enjoy all that Stratton and it's "fake village" is.

We do this Stratton weekend every season. Stay at the Black Bear across the street. Not cheap but a nice get away

Can't be as bad as it was for us one year. Snowed 15" only to have it rain 2" on the Thursday, then dropped into the deep freeze. Some of the trails had ice formation like you see on the rock walls on the highway. We still skied (a lot of lower angle stuff) and had a good time. Stratton did a great job of getting some trails under the guns and re surfaced for Sunday Morning.

Looking forward to it.

I skied there T/W/Th, the place was empty all three days, walked on the gondola a lot, rode it alone several times.

Tues was pretty good. I noticed a lot of new terrain open since my last visit before the freeze, so the snowmaking really did its job.

Weds was a few inches of wet snow with a solid crust on it, icebreaker skiing. Things deteriorated yesterday, lots of exposed rocks, dirt, etc

All the high speed detachable lifts operated quickly and safely.

Just pulled into BW after an interesting drive from Bartlett. It’s dark and wet and weird here. Precip is quite mixed.

Accumulating sleet at 5 miles up 30 from Manchester. Plain rain down in town on coffee run. Stratton lifts all on hold. Bacon and eggs.

It's been more than a few years but that diner halway up the road to Bromley used to have a GREAT corned beef hash.

Must of been crappy freezing mixed precipitation most places in VT last night as Just checked Okemo and they closed more then half of their larger lifts for the "DAY" and Killington closed lifts and went from 150 to only 50 current open trails.

BW started out soft today but it’s locking up, getting harder. Ungroomed is not advised.

Mount Snow put up a picture on some of their social media feeds this morning of what looked like either the railing outside the Summit Lodge or a portion of one of the cross arms on a lift tower coated in what looked to be atleast a 1/2" of ice, if not more!

If Mother Nature wants to bring some warm air (say upper 30's/low 40's) into the Summit elevations for a few hours this afternoon, that would sure help with operations not just today, but also for tomorrow! Otherwise its going to take a big number of mallet swings to get that much ice off of the moving parts!

Looking ahead, next week's colder, more seasonable weather pattern will bring the potential for a couple of snow events in parts of the East. Can the Northeast grab a winning ghost of a SNOW storm that is ALL POSSIBILITY and COMPUTER RUN'S that would need to check off multiple boxes to come to happen.

Could a clipper storm pull a boomerang?

The first opportunity for snow next week will be from a clipper storm that drops southeastward from central Canada. The quick-moving storm will not have much moisture to work with, but it could bring coating to an inch or two of snow to parts of the Midwest from Monday night to Tuesday and the southern Appalachians from Tuesday night to Wednesday.

Beyond midweek, the same storm could get new life as it moves over the Atlantic Ocean on Thursday.

Should a buckle in the jet stream capture the storm just the right way, the storm could make a left turn and head up the coast. In this scenario, moisture could be thrown back into the Northeastern states -- much of which may fall as snow from Friday to Saturday.

aspen really overperforming with 339/336
Well that is NOT RIGHT in more then one area lol.
I am definitely not perfect and I can occasionally blame the ONTHESNOW totals that jump around at times.

They have 363 trails total that I just added up 4 mountains :) and currently have a open total of 346
So they are 346/363

Its interesting that they list 4 mountains in their totals. Definitely not all connected by lifts.
Can you access all the mountains and trails on Separate lift tickets like Killington and Pico?? or are they all Joined on a Single RFID card always?
How good are there Shuttles and Roads that you don't lose a lot of riding time??

Multiple days seem to be needed at that Aspen mountains grouping to say the least to check them out!
