Conditions have been pretty good in US and the Northeast for about 3 weeks in a row. Thankfully a new Snow storm is on the way to refresh & boost coverage and hide the icy patches. The Northeast and lower New York and lower Vermont especially are about to be dumped on this Tuesday and are facing their best conditions of the season this Valentines day week. Here are some of the open mountains in North America and a tasting of what is considered open terrain with Trail counts this point in the season "week 15" around North America. These are considered lift serviced trails at some of the open ski mountains on Super bowl Sunday 2/11/24. Hike to your delight for more trail fun.

One of the worst seasons ever. At least the snowpack is derp enough to survive.
Looks like 30 below windchills for Wednesday.
Awesome

Maybe I've just lucked out and hit good windows but I've had loads of great days this year one state over.

I've managed to hit whatever was good...but we haven't had a significant snowfall in a long time.
Early season..then almost nothing.

Swing and a miss for central and northern VT resorts. Back to fat biking and groomer skiing.....

I'm off the last week of February and we better get some snow by then.

I was kinda bummed that this is totally missing VT but maybe I can spend some money on a day ticket and audible to NY. Sounds like a potential Platty special.

Very good article about this storm and the last minute shifts in the Storm outcome. Worthwhile read if you are as bummed about this storm as most.

The ones the news hype are never the ones that do much in ski country.

I'm gonna go out in a minute and bomb icy groomers all day as a sacrifice.

Things look decent going forward fwiw. Till then you Connecticut people get some.

We were thinking of taking tomorrow off and hitting Stratton if they got snow... Then we made some Ikon reservations at Windham... Now we're looking at going to Camelback. Never been but it's the same drive time for us as Windham, about 2:20.

7 inches in south central PA. Power currently out at Roundtop due to downed trees. Very heavy snow and its hovering just at freezing. crazy this storm put down that much snow in about 5.5 hours after pouring from 11-4 AM.

Blue Mountain sent me a text message boasting about getting 12+ inches. I don't remember signing up for that but good for them, I guess. Barney's was down to dirt and rocks in the troughs this past weekend.
