Foggin Goggles

I have a decent pair of goggles btut hey fogged up on me the other day bootpacking the slides. Had to ski without them.
Everyday when I am done I wipe them with some antifog stuff.
Have been thinking off ways to keep them from fogging and cant come up with anything.
Any thoughts?

Oakley. I dont know the style but they worked great for the past three years.

get goggles with more vents, sounds like your face is generating a ton of heat and the outside temps are cold enough to make the lens fog....you need more airflow... (my smiths have a lever on the lens that you can regulate airflow) never ever fogged up...also, get a SKIGEE and attach it to your glove, best $2.00 you'll ever spend, takes ice off your lens in a flash without scratching it...

Would it have been possible to hike without the goggles on? That's what would have tried. Other than that, like Quattro said, more vents might help. It's harder for the goggles to stay clear when you're not moving fast and forcing fresh air into the vents though. You could pick up a pair of those goggles with the little fan on them to keep the air moving while moving slow...

We were going through some pretty thick stuff with my hands full. Would have got poked in the eyes.
I was thinking about two sets of goggles but I dont think that would work casue as soon as I put the new ones on they are going to fog up because of the temp difference. My sun glasses do when I put them on in the morning.

I have the marmot work gloves that have the thumbs with the shami stuff on them. They do a decent job on the outside stuff. Other than the occasional snow gun blast in the face
that i can not get off.
.I was sweating like a pig. My buddies fogged up as well. My other buddies did not but that guy is in bettter shape than anyone I know. hes a freak

I've never used the stuff, but then again I've never done any hiking with my goggles on. Did you try wearing them at the start of your descent? I've had goggles fog up on the chair after an invigorating bump run or something but they clear themselves out after a few seconds heading downhill... Might not be an option if you're skiing hairy stuff though...

You may want to check out Smith Turbo-fan goggles. They make several models. My wife always had fogged up goggles and glasses until I bought these for her. They have a small battery powered fan built into the top with 2 speed settings. It uses a single AAA battery and you can keep them running on low all day. They are expensive but I bought a couple of pair on Steep and Cheap for less than $50.00 each.

When I take a hard run then get on a slow chair the fog from lack of air flow. I am a heavy sweater like you. If you can wear some sun glasses on the hike it will help you out.

As others have said, wear a different pair of eyewear on the hike up. It's darn near impossible to wear goggles hiking and not have them fog up. Personally, I've switched from sunglasses to goggles at the top of a hike/descend several times and not had a problem with the goggles fogging up, whereas I've had trouble with fogging and/or internal icing each time I've tried to hike with goggles on.

It ain't the goggles, it's whats on the rest of your body. Remove a layer or 2. Your goggles will do just fine.
