Burke's future is very bright. Things are really starting to look good for the mountain.

Hope so...a lot of folks are seeing the great terrain and what it has to offer.

Apparently there was an article published with that picture, however they didn’t put it on their web site.
It basically said that Burke 2000 continues to have negotiations with an experience, well financed developer from Florida. But nothing is signed yet. It also said that they have permits in place to replace all lifts.

Having skied it for the first time this year, I was delighted at the quality of the terrain regarding trail cuts, fall line and the natural snow fall. And even though the regulars thought there was a big line, I thought the line was minimal compared to other areas. I'm not sure that another lift or even two would hurt the on-slope capacity (which is great for those who don't like standing on lines) but will certainly put financial stress on an operation that seems fragile already (based on what I read in the press).

Very interesting! My connection said that he'd heard there had been discussion about replacing the Sherburne Double with a faster lift that would dump skiers higher up on the mountain  I don't really know what the latter means...I guess run it up to a point just above the Gap? I'd think that would not be prudent since the Sherburne Double does a great job keeping beginners on LOWER mountain and off of the expert stuff.
