Check the Avalanche Bulletin for Tuckerman and Huntington Ravines. This week must've really taken its toll on the ravine. There's undermined snow, crevasses, and falling ice. There are some recent photos from 4/14, but I'm betting conditions have deteriorated a lot since Sunday. I suspect Gulf of Slides will be in similar shape.

Gulf of Slides Conditions

I just talked with Jay Philbrick of Chauvin Guides.
He was there on the 12th and said conditions were excellent.

With the warm whether and rain, Jay mentioned that
there might be a slight chance of increased avalance
danger. This would be due to a very deap layer of
corn and "mush" that could develop. Undermining of
snow is not a problem in the Gulf as there are no
stream beds running as in Tucks or the LittleHeadwall.

Unfortunately, it's either go now or wait a whole
year and I don't think I could. This is only my
second time skiing this year. My first trip was to
Tucks in mid March. Conditions were high avalanche
danger, 50-80 mph winds, and 10 degree temps.
Needless to say, we bagged it at Hojos and skied down
to the car, powder all the way down.

I think I'll probally go anyways. If I can ski great - if not, well it'll be a good hike.

I sure wish I could find someone interested enough to check it out with me. I really don't think its safe to go it alone.
