The season is going well. This is our 6th year as a varsity program, my first as head coach. We tallied the most wins in a season for the program (eight) and still have on regular season game left today. We also made the conference and state tournament in the same season which is also a first for us. Had 4 players get all league honors and 2 honorable mentions. I learned a lot bout the kids and myself this season. I just wish I could make this lax thing a full time gig. :) Lax has made me go partially MIA from AZ. But I had to chime in on a Warp B-Day thread! :)

WOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GREAT job with the kids this season COACH G !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey hope your FT coaching dream comes true-----------ya gotta follow your passions . hey it makes LIFE worth living. I too always enjoyed my coaching and when i moved into administration and worked my way thru deanships and the presidency i ALWAYS felt like i was a coach and my REAL job was to make WINNERS outta my players or people around me . One of the greatest rewards is to see "your people " stretch and grow " and be all they are capable of . Coaching which by my definition is just "ACTIVE " teaching offers that rteward .

Good on ya G'man !! You're moulding the future

Education is the other side of the coin. I'm the son of a teacher/principle. I wish I had the time and money to pursue a teaching cert. There are some programs in CT that fast track individuals with certain areas of expertise into teaching. Unfortunately I don't fall into one of those categories. Of course I do a lot of Xs and Os coaching. But a common theme that comes up with my players is being a responsible well rounded young adult. It is really amazing to see a selfish unfocused freshman develop into a responsible young person/athlete.

Awesome post! One of the best "guidance counselors" that my kids ever had was their football coach. He's a wonderful man; I love the idea that "you're molding the future!" Congrats on a winning season!

Yay! Thank you...the world needs good, empathetic, kick-a$$ teachers and coaches.
