Not yet. Someday once home life settles down a bit and the whole family is skiing. Maybe a guys trip will happen before then too.

Wow. If you like the bumps at Sundown wait till you get a load of some of the mogul fields out west. I've skied the Northeast, Europe and the American west and out of those three the American west is by far the best. You've got something to look forward to.

I've never skied out west. Kind of ironic that I have cycled by many western ski areas in Colorado and western Canada. I even stayed at Mike Wiegele's incredible Heli ski lodge on a bicycle tour of British Columbia. Other bike tours we've taken in Colorado also overnighted at Ski area lodging. It's hard to justify spending lots of $ flying west when you have vacation home at an eastern ski area.

Right where I want to be
I have skied:
Snowbird '93
Copper/Vail/Breckinridge/Keystone '97
Also been East to Chamonix '98 last time away from NE
Now that kids are getting older going to Sqauw/Alpine Meadows/Sugarbowl Feb '09
Crazy thing is everytime I come back we get dumped on here and the skiing conditions are better here then when I traveled.
Snowbird '93 it hadn't snowed in 2 weeks and the days I went skiing I it was cloudy and I couldn't see 20 feet in front of me.
97 it didn't snow the whole time - came back and skied 2 feet of powder at Cannon
98 It did snow the 1st day but it hadn't snowed in 3 weeks so you couldn't ski back to the village.
Come on snow in Tahoe Feb '09 - seeing it has only snowed once there so far this year and it has been in the 40's and 50's ever since and it has all melted away

For skiing out west.....the terrain wins hands down..the often better snow conditions are just an added bonus..

My first western ski trip was to Keystone, Colorado in March of 1983. I skied in the summer on Mount Hood in July of 1987, August and September of 1988, August of 1990 and August and September of 1997.

I have skied alot of Colorado, a bit in Utah and at Mount Batchelor.

I skied Whistler/Blackomb in December of 1993 and did some heli-skiing there as well.

My son's first trip out west was to Mammoth Mountain during June 6-9th, 2006. We skied together in Summit County in February of 2007 and at Las Vegas Ski And Snowboard Resort.

Sort of like an answer to the Diva weeks? :D They're going to Summit County this season.
IIRC Greg was invited, and encouraged to join us for Hart Fest 08 at Abasin. It was circumstances that it was the same weekend as Divas do Mothers Day at Abasin, but we had a free sofa, calling out greeeeeeeg

Yup, I do remember that offer. That sofa was comfy, too. I slept on it the last night we were there. :D

Over the last 20 years, I've done at least one trip for western skiing each season. I've skied in Colorado (Steamboat, Vail, Breckenridge, Loveland, Copper), Montana (Big Sky), Utah (Canyons, Deer Valley, Park City, Alta, Brighton), and Idaho (Sun Valley).

I've never skied out west. I've had the opportunity but always decline, I would hate the western conditions.

I've never skied out west. It's hard to justify spending lots of $ flying west when you have vacation home at an eastern ski area.

I also have a skihouse here in the east. When you finally do go west you'll find it even harder NOT to justify flying west.9th year in a row Catskiing in central BC and I cant get enough.
