....think I might be getting the urge to get out the google earth and paint shop to draw some maps of potential Killington improvements/trail changes.

What are your ideas about changes/new trail sections/routing? To the Bear mountain area? Skye peak? Anything else? I've got plenty of ideas already, but I'll take the best ones and draw them up.

I know their budget is limited for improvements this year, but cutting down trees and grading is somewhat cheap....sort of. "Natural Trails" are cheap. Fencing is even cheaper! Killington seems to be in listening mode right now, so this is the time to voice any ideas you have.....! Anything that is put on the table right now still has enough time to get permitted and built this summer/fall....

please don't ...

if they blow on the fiddle and fix that cluster f*ck at the top of the skye peak4 w/ the new great eastern i'm good. i think a widening of skye lark & possible regrading of the viper pit might still be on the table.

There was some interest in new maps over at the K-zone. Thought I would post up here to see if anyonw was interested.

Might as well post some previous efforts....

Please excuse the extra large size.

This one is of Snowdon and the northern part of the canyon. Things to note:

- Snowdon triple is shortened/replaced to end at the top of conclusion/highline
- A Great Northern route is cut from the end of the crossover back to the bottom of the canyon quad. The feasablity of this is quite debatable, as it would be going across a steep slope, not to mention some glade skiing (that I never ski, lol).
- There is a traverse at the top of the shortened triple that would allow access to snowdon, or to the canyon.
- Mousetrap is divided in half and connected with lower bunnybuster.
- the current GN looparound switches back and joins with the end of Caper.
- Snowdon qaud moved over to start at the Vale lot.

The overall goal is to make the 4 separate zones - GN loop, Racers/Bumpers, groomers, and treeskiing.

Check it out:

HS-

I do like and agree with cutting the triple back and replacing the quad with a HS. u should zoom out a little so we can see where that new quad starts. personally i think they should just run it on the same line/trail path. if anything the top terminal should be more centrally located at the top of snowdon peak (ie. above bunny......but then that could be messing with the poma so that would need to be taken into consideration). i do not like ur new trail to the canyon quad :-x....maybe if the triple ran high enough so that you could access royal flush, that would get you down to the canyon instead. problem there is that flush is only open so much out of the year (same would go with your new trail there.....thats south facing). when shorting the triple, i think you need to look at the topos and make sure you can access the poma easily (ie. downhill). i like how u addressed the CF that is mousetrap, bunny, GN. although its a little strange, it does separate the trails. my thought with that area is to fence up/eliminate lower bunny and regrade lower mouse run. this would atleast allow people another 100ish feet to "figure out whats next". i really dont see any other solution to that CF, while maintaining a route to KBL, which is very important. i would be cool with losing that access across (lower bunny) if i knew it was going to save a few bones.....literally.

I like cutting back the triple, but I'm on the side of those opposed to the HSQ at Snowdon due to the impact on the natural snow trails over there.Personally, I'd have the quad run up to where the triple is now, so if you want to ski the natural snow trails you have to traverse over and slightly up. Get the benefit of the HSQ for the intermediate terrain and keep the natural snow stuff segregated to limit traffic.
