Pretty much 3 hour max for a daytrip, try to keep it closer to 2 hours. More than that and we go for an overniter and economize the driving. With gas prices we may do overniters more often. Easier to justify the cost of a room.

I feel the same way, except I felt the same was last year too...

It's all about the hostels... $20 a night makes for good, long, cheap ski weekends.

I would go far, far less if it weren't for the few hostels I know about.

And driving time is still the limiting factor for me, not gas prices.

I'm young enough, dumb enough, and make enough money (bad combination) so that it hasn't gotten me worried yet.

Like I said before, hostels help a lot. They just feed my addiction.

I would go far, far more if I didn't have a dog it was difficult to board.

Dress him like a kid. Some of the owners I've met smoke so much they probably wouldn't notice anyway.

I'd rather be able to pack up and go skiing (or do any other number of things) than have a dog. Trade-offs and all that I guess....

This one's only got about 4 more years left in him. Sad on one side, not so much on the other.

He's big enough to pose as a kid, so that's an idea...

I like gregs theory when it comes to this, you have to spend as much time on the slopes as in the car. The furthest i go is 4hrs each way to killington. I think this year im gonna make more trips to the catskills, try out hunter, plattekill, maybe windham, its only about 2hrs there.

Make sure you check out Belleayre

Cats are the ultimate ski animal...
Just fill up the food and water dishes and leave for a week...

Very convenient ski animal, yes. Ultimate? Not so sure...

Let's think about a penguin. Now, talk about a chick magnet!
