We were just at Ragged and Gunstock, and they are both planning on April 5th at the moment, from what we were told.

If the 2 week models have some degree of accuracy, Superstar won't be loosing essentially any snow due to melting between now and April 1st. The "colder" than normal pattern we've been in looks to be hanging around for a while. Heck, even the long range multi month trends are for a cooler than normal spring across the Northeast. Who knows??
Cmon doc, you too with the inability to spell "lose"?
So when you have a patient lose a loose tooth, you say the loose a loose tooth?

The forecast for the next 10 days is winter. In VT we are looking at high temps around 15-20 degrees several days next week with only a slight warmup over this weekend. This looks to be one of those years that the snow at most areas will outlast the skiing population. Nashoba is done with 100% great coverage. After the end of March it is pass holders only except at the likes of S'loaf, Stowe, Jay and K'mart.

Looks like Powder Ridge is throwing in the towel after this Saturday, 3/22. And according to their web site, have been on a reduced schedule for the past couple weeks (ie: not open daily).

[And for those wondering why someone at a big VT mtn gives two hoots about a small CT hill, it's because it's where I first learned to ski (for real) and where I entered into the lifty/snowmaking gig. So I'll always be curious.]

They're under new ownership, right? Hopefully it was a decent season and that they can keep it off of NELSAP.

Yes they are. From my family, there was a LOT of snow down that way this season, and it seemed like quite often I checked their snow report and would see a fraction of their terrain open, while other adjacent areas were 100% open (or close to it). I understand they have been closed for several years and are working to get back. But also according to their web site, they never even got their cafeteria finished.

Given temps look to be no higher than mid-30s until at least practically April, how long do folks think glades will be skiable at farther north places like Smuggs or Jay?

Well locally Blue Mountain posted April 5th and Camelback is saying April 12th as their last days. That's pretty impressive for the area.

Agreed! With Hunter closing 4/13 we have options, provided temps stay cold and the precip is white, not wet. I would love nice springtime conditions for a day trip or overnighter. My budget won't allow for another Vermont trip after the one this week.

Smuggs was open til mid April last year and with Liftline open top to bottom on the last day of the season. I believe some trees like Timbuktu at Jay will probably be skiable into May

Killington almost made June last year, last weekend in May, IIRC. So glad the new management is dedicated to opening early, closing late. Much closer to home than the other late season players for me, Jay, Sugarloaf. Superstar is an awesome Spring trail, steep top and bottom, mellow in between.

Is this a definite based on what you have heard? I see the BodeFest event for April 5 but nothing beyond that.
Sorry for the delay. The 13th is the set closing date as of 2 weeks ago. They do leave that a little flexible if demand is there but usually only 1 week extra.

That would be awesome. I'm hoping to make it up there for a last hurrah sometime between April 12 and April 20, but I'd only do so if some glades were skiable and/or maybe some trails like Valhallah.
