So....what's the verdict so far? Is Killington more beastly? I'm hearing reports of an insane amount of snow being made on Outer Limits? Perhaps an epic spring run? How about the grooming, or more importantly the lack thereof? Snow report states less than 50% of the terrain has been groomed today. Gotta be pretty bumpy after the weekend.

Just thought we could use a new 200 page Killington thread....

ol & vertigo were sick this weekend. something like 9 straight days of snowmaking on ol and just see other k threads for my comments on vertigo. they've blown the heck out of the place. regarding grooming, pretty surprised that they had groomed north star & ridge run (west glade) this weekend. also thought that escapade had some recent grooming (bumps seemed smaller & sparser). powline had good bumps. regarding some of the nats - flush, thimble, stichline and skye hawk (actually line extreme skiers left still good) are trashed. upper fiddle excellent but lower has gotten very boney (uh-oh). upper dreammaker has great bumps. upper wildfire decent. trees in good shape. even throne was pretty good saturday. though all nats could use a refresh and there's none in the forecast for the next week. forgot great bumps on upper ovation. snowmaking lower o but thought that wasn't as good as some past years.

Been skiing great. OL was fantastic this weekend, missed Vertigo on Saturday because Bear always seems to be a good 10°F warmer than the rest of the mountain and I was dressed for that. Ovation and Escapade have been really good. Trees were good last week. Tons of snow made on OL. Massive snowmaking whales, dropped off one at one of the slower speeds I've ever taken a jump, said "this is going to be lame" as I a prepared a weak spread, and found myself 15 feet in the air. Next time down I still thought I was going slow, and completely launched it. I didn't try a third. Complete mind -, great landing but really freaky getting that much air with so little speed. Almost cliff hucking, but different feel to it.

Will it be good on Friday 1/15 ? I'm thinking of a killer day trip up there.

If I had to guess I would think that they're letting it cure, drain and set and they'll winch half of it Thursday night or Friday night. Didn't ski it today (monday) but went up the bear chair twice. There is a ton of snow there. It's not really set up left-right, but it's there for the making. No bumps on Upper Wildfire as that was all filled in from snowguns. Lower part looked like it has just had the snowguns turned off.
Didn't ski Vertigo today either (was with some snowboard friends and cruised all around the mt), but that looked pretty set up as far as left rights and looked like it was skiing well
I'll be sure to sample Vertigo tomorrow (Tuesday) though

Really nice bumps on the Golf Course(top of Outer Limits directly under the chair)! It's pretty protected there so I imagine it should be great all week. Frank, any updates on Pete?

So with the snow making on Devil's Fiddle, things seem like they're going well this season at the Big K. What's the final factor on whether everyone will give Killington high marks this year? A late closing, I'd imagine. What would satisfy most of you? mid-May, late-May, or does it gotta be June? Any indication on the hill that they are going to make a run at a late closing? Any stockpiling on Superstar for example?

Seriously considering holding an extreme clinic at Killington this weekend. It's going to be awesome.

I have to imagine the success of the BMMC will be a big factor in a lot of people's minds too. IMHO..
