How many of you ski more at Hunter then anywhere else? It definately seems to be the mountain with the most threads dedicated to it and I'm just curious.

To me the definition of regular means you ski that hill alot more than others.

Except for a day at Mt. Snow and a few nights so far at Thunder Ridge with my 4 year old, all my days this season have been at Hunter.

That will change in Feb/Mar.

There's a lot of people in the NYC Metro area

I think they said Jersey is the most densley populated state in the country...and the entire southern half is pretty empty....so being in north jersey is kinda like being in that Star Trek episode

I've been skiing Hunter more and more over the past few years. This year might be the first year where I end up skiing Hunter more than any other mountain, and that's with having a Killington season pass and ski share.

Ahh...ok, so are you a regular skier/rider at Hunter?

I would call it my "home" Mountain, yes...I just can't bring myself to ski the Pocono's or Jersey anymore...

It's an 1 1/2 hours to Blue, or 2 Hours to Hunta...you decide

Only 40 minutes to Mountain Crack, but I'd rather be run over by a snowcat

I have a big lift card that I bought early enough so they thew in a free unlimited lift (got one for everyone in my family) and convinced 10 people from the office that we need to do team building days on Tuesday...where the card gets you a lift for $25.00

I'll also throw in Belleayre when the have skiier appreciation day for $15.00 lifts...next one is 2/16 I beleive..so the family and I will6 stay over and the ski Hunta on Saturday...in full body armour....

Really would like to go to plattekill someday

And I'm done with Widham...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

THAT said, I have a lot of catching up to do...next trip will be on the 13th...oh and look at that, I'll be off on the 16th as well skiing those 2 (or 3 days)

THINK (MAJOR) SNOW!

Probably 5-8 at killington.
A couple at Blue Mountain, and Montage.

Give Elk Mountain in the Endless Mountain region of PA a shot sometime. About the same distance to Hunter and Belleayre. Really good at grooming and they let a couple of hills bump up. Not generall steep but steep enough. I think they have about 800-1000ft vert.

Definitely not a regular, but I hope to score at least a half dozen days there this season, maybe more. It's the best mountain terrain-wise around the two hour mark which I consider pretty close. Great hill!

There's "regulars"(mostly weekends), "locals"(born and raised) and "transplants"(mostly "NYC Expatriots") up here...

I'm transplant who was a regular and I hang with locals... :)

My girl and I decided we were moving up here while we were holed up in our apartment in the days after 911..
I've been skiing/riding Hunter mainly since the mid-80's.... When it was ugly...
Before that I was a Pocono guy...

I ski Hunter about 6 times a year. I guess that does not make me a regular. I also ski Belleayre, Plattekill, and Windham. Sometimes I get up to Vermont and Whiteface.

I volunteer ski patrol at Belleayre about 24 days a year. Like many ski patrollers, I am also a volunteer EMT.

I grew up less than 2 miles from Hunter Mtn Ski Bowl before it was even a ski area. My father, grandfather, and great grandfather all lived in Hunter. As a kid, employment at Hunter Mtn Ski Bowl allowed me the opportunity to learn to ski and earn enough money, to buy a car and motorcycle, pay insurance, and put myself through college with no loans when I graduated. Many thanks to Orville for the opportunity to work hard in the great outdoors doing interesting work. :flag: I was also fortunate to work as a kid during a time when minimum wage was at an all time high.

My favorite ski area is Jackson Hole, Wy. Leaving on a jet plan for JH in about 33 hours. Like the northeast JH snow conditions are not the best this year. It still beats working in the office. ;-)

That's probably more than you wanted to know.
