Down here in MD and VA they pair waffles with fried chicken and call it soul food:

I was in a Univ of Virginia dining hall a year ago and the students were scarfing it up like there was no tomorrow. Of course, they eat everything like that:)

Back in 2001, living in WA, I looked into what it took to open a Dunkin Donuts franchise because there were almost none out there. I think you needed to possess $100K cash and like $250K assets or some equivalent combo.

I ended up moving to NH and starting my own thing, which I later sold.

Not terribly relevant but your question made me think about that.

I've wanted to own a dunkies for a long time......but you need 250k in cash and 500k in net worth......so yea not happening any time soon with a mortgage. I'm sure waffle cabin has much lower criteria

Never knew waffle cabins were franchises. Guess it makes sense now thinking about it. I really can't think of other f&b franchises on ski resort properties. Anything I'm missing?

I was wondering if the old Waffle Haus simply changed their name to Cabin or if it's a different company.

I'm sure in some village there is a Starbucks.
I can think of many multi location type deals but struggling on franchise.

They're too sweet and I think that's what makes them smell so good too. I get ravenous when I ski, so I'll eat just about anything, especially if I don't have to go into some overheated lodge.
