I want my MTV!

Thirty years ago today, MTV started broadcasting and changed the way my generation listened to music. I still want my MTV -- but bring back Martha Quinn!

We had to watch Friday Night Videos until our cable stations (southern Arkansas) got MTV in '88 or '89.

I remember when "M" stood for music. Not "Stupid crap like the Jersey Shore"

...and for runner-up in the, Cable Networks Who Aren't What They Used To Be catagory, the award goes to...The Weather Channel. I want my Tropical Update at 10 to the hour on EVERY HOUR!!!

For anyone growing up in eastern Massachusetts, remember V66, broadcast out of Framingham around 1984-86

At least they havent turned into VH1. Jersey Shore is to well a produced show for that crappy channel.

What's funny is that BET is pretty much the only real music television channel out there anymore.
