I have a friend who cleaned out his locker at Whiteface before he went on vacation in Florida. I saw him last week at the mountain and asked him why he was there cause he wasn’t in ski gear. He said he was bored at home and came over to see who was around and just hang out. I asked him why he wasn’t skiing and he said once his locker is cleaned out he’s done for the season. Mind you, he lives 12 minutes from WF and the skiing has been great with all the snow we’ve gotten.

I am being forced to call it quits soon as Sugarloaf will be closing on the 22nd with 100% snowcover and incredibly deep base depths.

But before then I will have skied 7 days straight with 43 days under my belt and 4 powder days out of the last five.

I would gladly ski lift serviced skiing into May/June, Sugarloaf could easily do this.

I'll call it quits May 7th when K closes....

If I lived close to a mountain, I would skin, but the 5 hour drive for only a couple runs will end my season when the lifts close.

During my last attempt at (earn your turns) skiing I was kicked off of Brodie by security. Gas prices, as well as life circumstances dictating that I spend this weekend in a city have bascially shut down my season. I'm hopeful for Tuck's though.

One of my ski buddies had given up a few weeks ago to prep for golf season (ughhh), but was brought back to his senses seeing the cam shots of the Loaf last week.

Needless to say he had a great time over the weekend and is still considering get out again...

Herniated disc. I would still be out there otherwise. Right Bob? ;-) Spring skiing and lift lagers go well together!

Gave it up for the season due to having to finish a 60 page article, take 4 finals and arrange a move from hoboken to philly.

When you have a family member who at 36 is fighting cancer, skiing is not on the priority list. Spending time with him is.

Soccer Season started (coaching)
live on long island, so the closest mtn is a good 4-5 hrs away (hard day trip)
have to get the house in order (mulch/paint etc)

I dont want to call it quits, but all in all it was a great ski season for us, but its time unfortunatly ..... no regrets.

Last fling will be at K this weekend. Then it's time to get the boats in order. Was a good season.

Friday will likely be my last day out this season. Eventually I come to a point in the spring where I feel satisfied and when I set a day for it to be it, I usually stick to it. I enjoy working in the yard and stuff and I like to get a jump on that. We also bought a new construction in 2005 so there's always something to do. A masonry project is on the agenda for me this spring. Finally, it comes down to geography. Living in CT, the closest option for really late season is Killington at a 3:30 drive. This Friday is April 20 and I think that's just about the latest I've ever skied. Mid-April is usually it for me. If I lived closer to lift-serviced skiing, I'd likely go later.

I called it quits last Friday at Jiminy. Great day too. I started and ended my season skiing with members of the AZ crew.

I called it quits due to lacrosse. Earlier in the ski season I made a comment to Greg regarding not letting lax get in the way of late season turns. But its not my own games. I've been helping coach the D for the local HS team. Coaching is addictive. I can see myself coaching for a long time to come. So instead of being frustrated about my form in the bumps I get POed that our offense can't score enough goals to support my D that is playing well above their abilities.

Both the seasons and our activities to a good job of balancing out the extremes in our lives. Looking forward to next season.
