Thanks for all your comments He actually has delayed acceptence at Johnson State College which means he is signed up to go fall 08. He chose JSC cause they have a terrain park right on campus. He knows that it's his path so if he wants to stay longer it ok with me.

He could have gone to JH where he had complete support system in place but during the tour out west he, the wife and his two sisters(he wasn't happy about that but sometimes you have to make compromises) took last spring during spring break Breck was on his short list. I couldn't go, paid for the trip but I did get a nice cap from Steamboat. JH was too isolated for him plus he wants to make his own path. The NYC job fair sealed the deal for him.

About the $500 a night waiter job I find it hard to believe that a rookie waiter working a seasonal restaurant in Breck would ever make that much. To be honest neither he or I would ever be very good waiters at a high end place. Props to you for making that kind of money as a waiter.

Hey DHS, he is up in Cumberland. Thanks for explaining about the employee housing. FWIT the wife and I are not divorced not really separated in the normal sense of the word. We both go back and forth between Maine and Vermont as much as we can. As soon as the youngest(3 more years) graduates from HS we will be selling the place in Maine and the wife will become a Vermonter again. Being a native Vermonter and practically growing up at kmart she has been jonesing to return for many years.

yeah 500$$ a night as a newbie waiter is highly unlikely, even on a good night. the actual pay difference between front and back is pretty tough to swallow at first though. i know well skilled line cooks with talent and many years experience that are overall paid less than a high school buss girl or hostess. what i'm saying is if its just purely for $$$ then go to the front, but if there is any sort of passion involved then by all means cook. if anything he will learn a life skill will come in pretty handy (works pretty good with women)
