It is RFID from Entibani Systems, the owners of Indy. It will be direct to lift at the resorts that use Entabani, Cannon for sure, and Magic as well, new this season. I thought the system was terrible at Cannon last season with crazy long lines and long wait times at the window.
Yeah, I hit a couple areas out west with their system. Better show up real early, even with no line it takes a while. Not good!!!

Is it compatible with the Axess systems in use at Jay and most other mountains?

The individual resort pages on Indy's website are much improved with the new website. I wasn't a fan at first but I have to say, it definitely creates a more cohesive-feeling pass product.

I have had my first issue with Indy after three seasons. We skied Pat's only one day this past Sunday. I just received an email saying we have used up both days plus a 25% off day. I'm not sure how that happened. If Pat's screwed up or Indy

I emailed them to fix it. We shall see how quickly they respond

Did this happen with just your pass or all passes in your family? I am wondering if somebody accidentally entered 3+ people against 1 pass instead of 1 day per pass. I imagine and hope they will get this straightened out for you. They don't have RFID at Pats do they?

I only received one email, so maybe just one? It could be what you say though as my son used one of his. And then my daughter I bought a day ticket for as she is 5 and I don't have a pass for her. I'm not sure if the $18 I spent on her ticket was the normal price or 25% off. I didn't look at the receipt

Only on specific dates and only two days per pass
Is it only good for 2 days? Also, is the announcement just a formality, seems like it might have qualified anyway? From JH website...

Full Details

Multi-resort passes, such as the Ikon and Epic pass, are eligible to purchase the Golden Ticket if the pass grants at least 10 days of skiing.

The discount does not apply to the multiday rates. Pass must be 10 days or more for winter alpine access. Pass must be presented along with photo ID to qualify. JHMR reserves the right to verify the authenticity of any pass with the issuing mountain. Promotion is valid for the passholder only, not for resale, no cash value. We will refund wholesaler tickets by request; standard policy applies (guest must contact wholesaler directly for refund and pay us directly for the Golden Ticket.)

Moose in Alaska and Hudson Bay BC now added. Moose addition should save me $115 between me and the kids. Hudson Bay is a real nice place, but talk about the middle of nowhere.

Never heard of either place. Good lord, Fairbanks is a haul, is Moose the only destination you’re hitting in Alaska?

No, we'll hit a bunch. Moose and Ski Land near Fairbanks. Alyeska, Artic Valley, Hilltop and Skeetawk near Anchorage and Eaglecrest in Juneau. There are also a couple military base areas, but apparently they're tricky to get on. Between 2 for 1 fights and miles, the trip is not as crazy as it sounds in the $ department. Can go from Fairbanks to Anchorage for 5000 miles per person, same with Anchorage to Juneau. Very excited for this one, Covid killed the last time I had this planned, then we had to wait for a year when spring break is on the early side.

That sounds amazing! What are the military bases about?

They have two small ski areas on bases in Fairbanks and Anchorage. They also have a t-bar in the middle of nowhere at the Northern Warfare Training Center. The

The Fairbanks one, Birch Hill, is now open to civilian locals. Probably won't do me any good.

The Anchorage one, Hillberg, might be also, not 100% sure...

Good article Doug Fish and new Indy Pass owner Erik Mogensen of Entabeni Systems.

a few quotes
[Magic president Geoff] Hatheway estimates that Indy Pass holders account for 15 percent of Magic’s skier visits
and
“I’ve been fired as a ski instructor by all three major ski-resort operators,” Mogensen told me somewhat proudly. His employers frowned on several of his quirks. Ski schools would book him for two types of private lessons: a P3, or three-hour, half-day lesson; or a P6, meaning a full day. He offered a third option as well. “I invented the P24,” he says, meaning a ski lesson that turns into a sleepover. That and other offenses eventually got him fired
Translation: he got fired from three different companies for hitting on the customers. After reading the full article I have some concerns if this tech bro is going to be a stable steward of the Indy Pass ?

Nothing to do with Erik or Entabeni, but this particular line from the article does make me question the accuracy of the article in general a bit:
As his daughter was growing up and learning to ski, Winchester would take her to mountains on his Ikon Pass, at places like Hunter Mountain in the Catskills.

Also disappointed that the article only briefly touched on the "ultimatum" that Indy gave to some resorts about dropping other options. Would have been nice to hear some actual details about why Erik felt that it was necessary to do that. With the fact that Indy hit their limit on the number of passes sold, you can't argue that it was hurting your own pass sales.
