My wife on valentines day weekend wanted to go into Boston for a wine tasting on a Saturday - what? I convinced her to go to Stowe and Magic instead!

What killed me was the week we had all that powder, my son and wife's birthday was around that time. I had family to host, and rather than talk to them, I was looking at this website and reading all the delicious snow reports. Instead of skiing at (insert your favorite hill), I was playing chauffeur in the snow... I was pissed to say the least!

My family has also learned to ask me before assuming I will attend something in the winter. It's usually, "Are you going snowboarding this day?" and me replying, "Probably." When I was still with my ex, if she wanted to do something other than skiing on a good snow day, she new there had better be a good number of sexual acts involved. And even then, she'd owe me a ski day. I look at it like this: most things can be done anytime. An epic day on the snow requires staring at weather reports and radar maps, and getting your ass to the hill whenever it looks like there's even a chance of getting the goods. Even then, you might only get a handfull per year. This is the only thing in my life that I will get depressed about if I miss out. Anything else I'm more than willing to skip out on to make someone happy, so they are usually willing to let me have the winter.
