You're doing a fantastic job. Congrats.

I think it's time for you to start looking for one of these:

http://forums.alpinezone.com/28989-significant-others.html

;)

Because it's not like you can have a significant other (much less reside with them domestic partner style) and still ski and earn turns a lot ;) Just the matter of finding a woman that acknowledges your obsessions are part of your greatness :D

So, um, yea... getting to the reason I clicked on this thread in the first place... is it next ski season yet? This one still isn't over for many of us....

Yeah. Have a few kids and I suspect your turn earning opportunities will dwindle a wee bit. Not that I would ever trade my kids for an opportunity for June turns. Consider also that I'm a few hundred miles south of you and turn earning in June is almost an impossibility. Not complaining about my geographical challenge either since I love where we live. I guess my point is that the season is long done for all but you superhero turn earners so no need  at a thread like this.

Ummmm....... I wasn't rolling my eyes at all........

Thus, the  ;) and :D and all.

Surprised by the response to be quite frank. What's a June "is it ski season yet" post without the turn earners pipping in?

I know. just grumpy. My home PC blew up and I'm in the process of restoring everything.

Still - the elitist turn earners suck and the arrogant bumpers rule! ;)

Don't forget the $80 for new brake pads

Use gear brakes.

Which field of engineering are you getting into?

Civil.

Will you pick me up in NYC? :)

Just get to Lynn, it's only like 3 hours. :spin:

So when are you getting out next? How about Sunday? Pat might be coming back if he can receive the okay from his wife.

I am bored.

Summer skiing at it's finest. Come to my house in July after the ski lift chair is installed. Lift tickets are a bargain at $10, night skiing available, bring bug repellent and mosquito netting. Cheesburgers are at a bargain rate of $7, your choice of picnic table or driveway seating. Vertical 4 feet, 1 acre skiable terrain, 100 trails designed by prestigious firm of Mole and Mole. Lift serves 400 skiers per hour, you can probably get 50 runs in two hours. Chairlift travels at 0 FPM. Relax afterwards in with luxurious lawn sprinkler massage.

June skiing set for Ajax
Aspen Daily News Staff Report
Tuesday, June 10, 2008

With an average depth of 3 feet on its upper slopes, Aspen Mountain will reopen to skiers and snowboarders this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

There will be at least seven runs and 45 acres of mostly intermediate snow-covered terrain open, the Aspen Skiing. Co announced Monday. It is possible that even more terrain could reopen, one official said.

“It’s your typical early summer conditions,” quipped Rich Burkley, vice president mountain operations, in a press release, “better than a glacier, but not as good as a powder day. It will certainly be fun and is the perfect excuse for having a beer or two at the Sundeck.”

Skiing and riding will be allowed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., served by the Ajax Express chairlift. The Silver Queen Gondola will upload and download passengers to and from Aspen Mountain’s 11,212-foot summit from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Sundeck restaurant will be serving a barbecue lunch and beverages on the outdoor deck.

Although only for a few hours for a few days, Aspen Mountain (aka Ajax) will be the only ski resort open in Colorado. Arapahoe Basin, where skiers and boarders had been showing up in shorts, closed for the season on Sunday.

“We have the unique opportunity to offer skiing and riding as we open for our summer season, and we thought it would be a great way to have some fun and once again thank the community for all their support,” said SkiCo President and CEO Mike Kaplan.

Premiere passholders need to visit the lift-ticket kiosks in Gondola Plaza between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to acquire new passes due to changes made to SkiCo’s scanning technology. The kiosks open on Thursday.

June skiing and riding is free for premier, silver and 6-and-under passholders. All other Aspen/Snowmass passholders must pay a discounted rate of $19 for adults, $17 for youth and seniors and $12 for children. Adult single day tickets are $29 per day, youth and seniors must pay $26 and children’s tickets are $18. Regular summer rates will be in effect for gondola foot passengers.

Aspen Mountain’s lower half is mostly green with a few patches of white. Top-to-bottom skiing would be an impossibility but local skiers who have skinned up the mountain say the skiing up top is good but slushy.

Since the Silver Queen Gondola was scheduled to open for summer this week anyway, SkiCo spokesman Jeff Hanle said the only additional staff it had to round up were a few groomers, lift operators for Ajax Express and an extra ski patroller or two. The Sundeck was also already scheduled to open this week and SkiCo usually has a couple of its ski patrollers doing work on the mountains during the summer anyway.
