It's funny but now that i think about it, one of the best powder days ever was at Belleayre. It was the day before New years. We drove up in a Noreaster and woke up to 3 feet of the lightest pow I had ever seen. This was before I knew what to do with the stuff. So we all spent the day falling but it was great. Even shoveling out the driveway to get to the house was fun. The stuff was like talcum powder. Shoveling 20 feet of it was a joke.

We've had a couple of trips to Chile where we got 8 to 10 feet of snow in one massive dump. Afterwards, it looked like this:

I've had thigh-deep or better quite a few times over the years.... Snowbird, Deer Valley, The Canyons, Steamboat, Whistler, Termas de Chillan, Valle Nevado, snowcat skiing in BC, heli-skiing in New Zealand. Most places in New England track out so quickly that I'll often head to a more intermediate ski area like Mt Snow on powder days so I have less competition.
