It's my favorite individual sport, and the one I participate in most often. Next in line is tennis for participation. However, I still really enjoy watching team sports as I am a diehard NY Giants, NY Mets, and UCONN Football and hoops fan. Have season tickets for UCONN football, and I broadcast my son's high school games for our local cable tv station. This upcoming weekend I have a bit of a dilemma, as I would like to go to the UCONN spring football game and ski. Probably won't get to do both - we'll see which one wins out!

Now, I certainly won't claim Maine to be as hot as PA as it isn't, but it's only 60's and 70's in the WAY north...call it Canada.

Southern Coast, 80's is pretty much average.

Yup, and it can easily hit the 90s inland for a few weeks between July and August.

I think coastal Maine can be damn chilly in the summer and the rain factor used to piss me off. The ocean water never really seems to warm up all that much. Oh but the fish....I miss the fish.

I dunno, if I can say it's my "favorite", but I certainly have a lot of fun while doing it. I have to say that I love winter, just because there are NO bugs! There's a lot of things I enjoy, hiking, biking, kayaking, swimming, you name it I like try a lot of things. I used to ride my bike a lot, but since I've been here in NH, haven't had a lot of opportunity to. Believe it or not I seemed to have more places to ride or feel comfortable riding when I lived in Portland, ME.

Skiing, if I could ski more, I would, but unfortunately I gotta work.

Yes definately my favorite. I think about skiing all year round. Even on the hottest days of summer I will get on my motorcycle and ride to some of the area ski areas and just wish that I could be skiing.

As a spectator, I would rather watch football or baseball (or basketball or soccer or rugby or a lot of things, although slopestyle beats golf and cricket).

As a participant, sure, riding by far, no question. When I'm riding I don't think "man, I wish I were hiking....that peak would be sweet with no snow and some flowers..."

I guess boarding is the only thing that anyone calls a sport that I am remotely good at. My jump shot sucks, but I am probably more comfortable on a board than, gee, < 1% of adults. And that's not that I'm good -- our obsession is just not that common, though you wouldn't guess it in the lift line at 10 on Saturday.

perhaps north of Portland. I only have two summers experience here, but on both occasions, there's at least a two week period of temps in the high 80's, low 90's with massive humidity. I'll give you the ocean water. 65 degrees is about as warm as it gets, pretty chilly for most, but I don't mind it.

Certainly one of my favorite activities, but I really love the change of seasons and the accompanying change of activities. Now getting into the hiking, motorcycle touring, fast cars seasons. We'll be buying our first kayak this year and hope to add that to the list.

Love them all pretty much equally.

I live in Portsmouth, NH. Same climate. Most years, you have one or two stretches where air conditioning is pretty useful. I've also had some years where I never bothered dragging the air conditioners out and a fan was all I needed.

In front of my house, the sun will heat up the top few feet of water to a balmy 65F to 70F in July and August if there are no storms to churn the water up. On those hot days, it's pretty refreshing.

that's why they call us a bunch of "fanatics".
Why else would we subject ourselves to and participate in the incessant whining about no snow?

I prefer "lunatic" but the media chose the word ;)

I had to vote no. Cycling still is #1 for me. I really like the change of seasons and sports. Skiing, Cycling, Hiking, AutoCrossing (Racing cars in large parking lots or old airports). Although this year I really got into skiing more than ever. Who knows maybe it will be my favorite next year. And no, I'm not done skiing this year. At least one more weekend for me.
